Abstract
State-of-the-art of commercial technologies of welding by explosion (using explosives as the energy source) and highvelocity impact (using pneumatic and powder channel devices, as well as high-velocity water jets as energy sources) is analyzed. Separate consideration is given to attempts to develop a hand tool for local (spot) high-velocity impact welding. Possible trends in development and upgrading of the technologies of welding by explosion and high-velocity impact are considered.
Keywords: explosion welding, high-velocity impact welding, structural materials, manual tools
