Some regularities in formation of residual stresses in zones of a stress raiser and fatigue crack at cyclic loading

Abstract
Using nondestructive acoustic method, the fields of residual stresses occurring in samples (St.3) with a stress raiser at the first cycles of loading and in the process of a growth of the fatigue crack are investigated. It is shown that a biaxial field of residual stresses is formed at a cyclic loading in the zone of a stress raiser. The stress field with a high gradient occurs at a fatigue crack tip.
