Abstract
Peculiarities of heating of stamped billets in non-consumable electrode electroslag surfacing were investigated experimentally and by methods of mathematical modelling. It is determined that fast electroslag heating of billet for further surfacing with relatively low consumption of electric energy and heat saturation of base metal is achieved by specific power maintained at (150-180)ð104 W/m2 level. At that, it is necessary to maintain surfacing voltage and depth of slag pool at the possible minimum level. 11 Ref., 8 Figures.
