AC power source control unit for electroslag welding and remelting

A microcontroller control unit for an AC power source with phase-step regulation of the output voltage for electroslag welding and remelting is described, which allows smooth regulation and automatic stabilization of the output voltage under disturbing infl uences. The parameters of the opening current of thyristors for reliable switching of voltage control stages in the automatic mode were determined experimentally. The developed control unit is suitable for upgrading existing power sources with four taps from the primary winding of power transformers. This will improve the quality of products obtained using electroslag technologies. 5 Ref., 8 Fig.
