Sanitary and hygienic assessment of noise levels during friction stir welding of aluminium alloys

The paper presents the results of research on the characteristics of acoustic noise during friction stir welding (FSW) of aluminium
alloys 1460 (Al-Cu-Li) and 1201 (Al-Cu) in order to create recommendations for improving sanitary and hygienic characteristics
at the welder’s workplace. It was established that the noise level at the workplace during FSW with a tool rotation frequency of
1420 rpm is 83.3 ± 1 dBA for 1460 alloy and 80.2 ± 1 dBA for 1201 alloy. The use of special methods and means of protection
against noise is recommended. 9 Ref., 4 Tabl., 2 Fig.
