Abstract
The effect of scandium content in filler alloy Ml-10 on quality of welding-repaired cast magnesium parts has been studied. It is noted that scandium exerts a modifying effect on mechanical properties and heat resistance of the alloy. Utilisation of the scandium-containing filler metal for welding repair of alloy Ml-10 parts leads to a substantial increase in the level of mechanical properties of weld metal.
