The work is devoted to determining the parameters of technological modes for MIG and quasi-continuous laser-MIG welding of
T- and butt joints of 5083 aluminum alloy based on the establishment of fundamental technological relationships. Comparison of
the results of MIG and hybrid laser-MIG welding of 4 mm thick 5083 aluminum alloy showed that the use of radiation from a
fiber QCW laser with an average power of 500 W and a peak power of 2500 W makes it possible to reduce the welding current of
the consumable electrode arc by 20…25 % and promotes the establishment of a stable synergistic interaction effect between the
arc and laser components, manifested in a reduction of the cross-sectional area of the butt joint by approximately 27 %. The use
of QCW laser radiation in laser-MIG welding of 5083 aluminum alloy contributes to a reduction in the heat input of the welding
process for T-joints by 22…40 %, and for butt joints by up to 15 %. At the same time, the residual deformations of T-joints are
reduced by 14…16 %, and those of butt joints by up to 22 % compared to conventional MIG welding. 11 Ref., 2 Tabl., 6 Fig.
