The results of measurements of the time delay in sections of the drive line at two rolling modes in one of the stands of mill 1680 are presented. It is shown that the greater the speed of the strip feeding into the cage, the more open are the gaps in the spindle joint, and the longer is the response time of the line sections, which is taken as a diagnostic feature. It is proposed to use the features of technology and operating modes at determination of the delay time.
Keywords: rolling mill, drive line, strip capture, vibration measurements, wear, gaps, delay time, diagnosing.
