Ефективність і надійність таких операцій мають велике значення для забезпечення довговічності та функціональних можливостей космічних об’єктів. Одним із перспективних методів відновлення пошкоджень функціонуючих космічних об’єктів є електронно-променеве багатошарове адитивне наплавлення.
Перспективне рішення полягає в тому, щоб інтегрувати в космічну місію технології ремонту і виробництва, що забезпечать можливості адаптації до непередбачуваних ситуацій на вимогу.
